Some of my favorite jewelry is from Jenny Bird Jewelry. Founded in 2008 by self-taught designer Jenny Bird, the company philosophy is focused around the fact that the market doesn’t need junky, cheap jewelry or overpriced plated designs. Jenny Bird offers modern and unique jewelry at great price points, and every piece is sourced and manufactured responsibly.
Growing up in Elora – a tiny, artistic town in Ontario, Canada with a population of only 3000 – Jenny was immersed in the scenic nature. One of her greatest joys? She loves seeing her birdgirls’ personal style and spirit bring a piece to life. Jenny Bird’s pieces draw in contemporary women with her creative ingenuity. They have earned both critical and editorial acclaim.
Jenny Bird’s Philosophy
From her website:
“I founded my line as an extension of myself; rooted in an innate desire to build something. I am a self-taught designer, and, as it turns out, it’s the most intuitive, effortless process that I have ever known. I am committed to a personal philosophy: the market does not need more soulless, short-lived fashion jewelry, nor does it need over-priced plated pieces. Each piece I design is deeply inspired and well thought-out; produced in the highest quality, and sold at a fair price.”
Jenny’s husband Adam joined her as President of Jenny Bird jewelry in 2011. Since then, they have steered the explosive growth of the company. Jenny Bird is now a leading international brand, sold in over 500 retailers worldwide.
One of the best things about Jenny Bird Jewelry is their philanthropic efforts. Jenny believes that “it is more important than ever to spread love around the world and do what we can to elevate those around us who are less fortunate.” As such, the company focuses on causes that aim to aid disadvantaged communities. Specifically, they strive to that aim to create opportunities for long-term self-reliance through meaningful work.
Socially and Environmentally Conscious
Another great thing about Jenny Bird Jewelry is that they carry out their business in a socially and environmentally conscious way. They only work with and support manufacturers, suppliers, and business partners who are socially responsible. The couple visited their factory in China to witness the production progress of their jewelry, making sure it was a happy, clean environment. Jenny and Adam are conscious of their business’ carbon footprint and try to help offset it.
Jenny Bird Pieces I Own and Love
If you’re a fan of chains, you’ll love this edgy Marra Cuff Bracelet with mixed metals. A mix of classic chains amid new ones, this bracelet goes with everything. It has a high polish and antique finish, and it’s easy to wear and travel with. The Marra Cuff Bracelet goes with dressy as well as casual and is so much better than wearing multiple bracelets to get the same look. Plus, it’s easy to get on and off with the magnetic clasp.
For everyday earrings, I love this Bayside Stud Set. They’re my go-to for everyday earrings, and they pack a small but mighty style punch. This set of three studs in three modern shapes is finished with a high polish/gloss. They’re versatile, simple, and dainty.
I absolutely adore these stylish Mia Hoops. With two strands of chains hanging from open hoops, these earrings are made from 14K gold-dipped brass. Boasting a high polish finish, these fashionable earrings are light and comfy, and never heavy.
