My Favorite Places in Miami

Miami is one of those places that has something for everyone and that’s probably why it’s one of the world’s most popular vacation destinations. You’ve got the gorgeous Art Deco district, trendy South Beach, year-round mild climates, and so much more. Miami has some of the best shopping opportunities, too. If you’re looking for posh shops and wonderful customer service, there are plenty of stores for every taste.

The area boasts more than spectacular malls and restaurants. There’s boating, deep-sea fishing, golf and tennis. And of course, you can’t forget the sparkling beaches! Miami has got it all, and we love visiting there. Below are some of my favorite places to go to in Miami for those who live here or may just be visiting.

Miami’s Brickell

My family and I usually try to get over to Miami once a month just to get away. It is less than a two-hour drive there from Naples so it’s an easy trip. I am from Boston and my husband is from Chicago so sometimes we just get the itch to be in a big city.

Before we had kids, we would go to South Beach all the time. Now, we go to an area just north of South Beach called Brickell. We absolutely love it there and it is really becoming a more of an up and coming area. Our favorite hotel to stay at in Brickell is the Four Seasons. The hotel is very kid-friendly, and pet-friendly too. We always end up bringing our English Bulldog, Chloe, with us.

Best Places to Eat in Miami

The Four Seasons has an excellent steakhouse called the EDGE Steak & Bar located right in the hotel. It’s voted as one of the best places for brunch in Miami. They also offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Their delicious dinners feature beautifully prepared meats and seafood, signature main dishes, tempting appetizers and sides, and raw bar offerings that include several tartares. EDGE is a firm believer in the farm to table philosophy, which embraces a sustainable approach to agriculture and dining. In addition to their dining room, EDGE has an outdoor terrace and two private event rooms.

Our favorite restaurant in Miami is called Mr. Chow. Located in South Beach’s “W” Hotel, it’s an Asian Fusion restaurant. They feature a combination of old authentic Beijing and original Recipes. The best dishes include the best Beijing Duck, Chicken Satay, and Ma Mignon.

The stunning dining room is centered by a unique 123-foot gold-leaf and Swarovski crystal chandelier designed by Michael Chow. Located directly at the beach, the restaurant features indoor and outdoor private rooms, a spacious outside dining patio and interior bar and lounge.

Best Places to Shop in Miami

Two of my favorite places to go to in Miami are Bal Harbour and the Design District. The shopping is amazing and they both have amazing restaurants there. Bal Harbour features some of most popular and glamourous brands in the world. Some of the boutiques are Saks Fifth Avenue, Fendi, Georgio Armani, Prada, and Valentino. Bal Harbour boasts two floors of boutiques and cafes that are beautifully lined with palm trees, fountains, and ponds. A supporter of South Florida’s arts and culture, Bal Harbour features complimentary access to some of the most captivating visuals arts in the country.

The Miami Design District has plenty of luxury brands and high-class fashion boutiques. Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Harry Winston, and Louis Vuitton are just a few of the gorgeous boutiques in the Design District. There are also plenty of places to dine as well, such as Estefan Kitchen and Mercato.
